Project Overview
- Highly collaborative and innovative project delivery approach
- Use of big room collaboration, Target Value Design, design-assist, bulk buying and progressive Virtual Design & Construction and Lean construction practices
- Standardization/prototyping of building components and use of modular/
pre-fabricated elements to gain efficiencies in procurement, cost and schedule
To improve access to care for patients, Mass General Brigham opened a three-story, state-of-the-art integrated care center at Tuscan Village providing both primary care and specialty treatment, allowing patients to receive care all in one place. The facility houses four operating rooms designed for high quality outpatient surgical care, a central processing department, PACU bays, 31 exam rooms, physical therapy clinic and audiology services, as well as a state-of-art radiology suite that contains two MRIs, two x-rays, CT and mammography.
Pre-fabrication was a major point of emphasis for the project, including the use of off-site headwall construction, pre-fabricated façade assemblies, demountable exam room walls and numerous M/E/P system components.
In line with Mass General Brigham’s commitment to sustainability, the facility features a high-performance building envelope, efficient heating and cooling systems and highest efficiency light figures.
